Post-Surgical Adhesion

Adhesions are a common complication after a variety of surgical procedures, including abdominal, gynecologic and ENT surgeries. Post-surgical adhesions can lead to significant medical problems such as infertility, intestinal blockage, recurring pain, and loss of function. Anti-adhesion products help prevent or reduce the risk of post-surgical adhesions by creating a barrier between tissue and organs during the healing process.

HA-based Gel to Prevent or Reduce Abdomino-Pelvic Area Post-Surgical Adhesions

Hyalobarrier Gel and Hyalobarrier Gel Endo are sterile, transparent and highly viscous gels that form a barrier to prevent or reduce post-surgical adhesions in the abdomino-pelvic area. They are composed of highly purified, auto cross-linked polymers of hyaluronic acid (ACP®). Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a main component of connective tissues in the human body.

Hyalobarrier adheres to the tissue surface and to the abdominal wall, creating a physical barrier, which keeps the adjacent tissues separated after surgery, protecting against adhesions.

Presentations

Hyalobarrier Gel is available in individually packaged syringes, each containing 10 ml of 40 mg ACP/ml sterile gel.  Individually packaged 5-cm long cannulas are enclosed for application of the product.

Hyalobarrier Gel Endo is available in individually packaged syringes, each containing 10 ml of 30 mg ACP/ml sterile gel.  Individually packaged 30-cm long cannulas are enclosed for application of the product.

Indications

Hyalobarrier Gel and Hyalobarrier Gel Endo are CE-marked for the prevention or reduction of post-surgical adhesion formation in the abdomino-pelvic area.

Hyalobarrier Gel is indicated for use in open surgical procedures. Hyalobarrier Gel Endo is indicated for use in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgical procedures.

HYALOGLIDE® Anti-Adhesion Gel

HA-based Gel to Prevent or Reduce Adhesions for Tendon, Peripheral Nerve and Articular Surgeries

Hyaloglide is a transparent, highly viscous gel used to prevent or reduce adhesions after various surgical procedures, such as tendon, carpal tunnel, peripheral nerve or joint surgery. Hyaloglide is composed of a highly purified, auto cross-linked hyaluronic acid (ACP) and is both bioresorbable and biocompatible.

As a result of its viscosity, Hyaloglide perfectly adheres to the surface of the tissue, creating an anti-adhesion barrier which keeps the adjacent tissues separated while repair occurs after a surgical procedure. This anti-adhesion layer is then completely resorbed over time.

Hyaloglide is available in 2 ml or 1 ml volume, to fit different procedures needs.
