National Accounts Specialist

Location: Bedford, MA, Franklin, MA, Remote, Sarasota, FL

Position Scope:

The National Accounts Specialist will work directly for the Director of National Accounts to support a broad range of tasks and projects across the Anika business. Invested in becoming a subject matter expert on local, regional, national, corporate strategic contracts, pricing, sales, and operations.  Involvement in the activities of the business drives toward higher level of expertise in these specialties. When appropriate they may also assist cross functional departments (that may include but are not limited to: marketing, finance, customer service, operations, legal) where needed to assist other departments in their tasks and ultimately assist Anika in realizing sales, revenue, and policy adherence goals.  This position takes active ownership of key deliverables and is accountable for successful execution.

Specific Tactical Responsibilities:

Takes a supportive and/or ownership role in strategic contract/pricing initiatives including:


  • Creating, launching, managing, and updating the contracts calendars that alerts Anika to upcoming expirations
  • Manages the account memberships with IDN, GPOs, etc.
  • Assures the up to date and accurate location and access of various contracts on ShareDrive
  • Assists with contract inquiries and requests for proposals and related activities
  • Works directly with various Individual Accounts, IDN’s, GPO’s, as needed to assure responsiveness and good representation of Anika to external customers


  • Experience with Excel, Pivot, Tables, SAP, WebOps
  • About manage complex sales analytics
  • Manages GPO Fees
  • Manage ASP data, Contract performance


  • Manage and assures accuracy, and maintains the pricing in SAP and WebOps
  • Assists with pricing inquiries and requests for proposals and related activities
  • Manages the annual Price Guide to assure accuracy and ease of use both for internal and external customers
  • Assists with the communication of price changes and or additions to the field

Sales Enablement:

  • Collaborating with product managers and customer service, to update and route information as needed or directed
  • Developing and communicating Anika policy and procedure as needed to assure compliance with all that apply
  • Liaising with sales and accounts as needed

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Optimizing contracts/pricing process, procedures, and forms
  • Providing training to sales team and others as needed
  • Work with various departments internally such as accounting, finance, legal, etc. as needed
  • Assisting and assuring the, monitoring, reporting of key performance metrics

Required Qualifications:

B.A. or B.S. required

Desired Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of proven successful contract sales experience in medical device; orthopedics preferred
  • A proven track record of professional growth and development
  • Highly organized and process driven
  • Experience with SAP and WebOps preferred
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work with significant autonomy
  • Exceptional communication and reporting skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel, Pivot Tables, and Word
  • Team player
  • Must be willing to travel up to 1 time per month as needed
