Account Services Specialist

Department:  Commercial

Reports to: Director Global Market Development

Strategic Focus Areas:

  • Create a positive image of Anika Therapeutics through communication and interaction with key stakeholders including employees, customers and business partners
  • Maintain effective collaboration with internal colleagues to meet corporate objectives and drive improved business results
  • Design and implement programs, materials and activities which support the growth efforts of the Company

Specific Tactical Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with distributor to obtain knowledge of business conditions, market activity and identify areas of sales opportunity and/or risk
  • Maintain knowledge of distributor contracts to ensure dates for specific requirements are met including forecasts, order placement and contract minimums
  • Maintain current knowledge of products, prices, cycle times, contract terms, marketing promotional services and other customer related activities
  • Update data within the Sales Revenue Forecast based on real time information
  • Receive and process orders, providing information concerning changes in product availability, pricing and shipping
  • Preparation of specialized documents required for international shipping
  • Maintain liaison with other departments for order completion
  • Collaborate with Finance to maintain current terms for customers to include customer interaction regarding late or missed payments
  • Coordinate customers’ service requirements with other departments as necessary to ensure effective customer service
  • Comply with Quality Systems and financial procedures as they relate to sales and service
  •  Responsible for other duties and projects as assigned

Job Complexity:

The job requires the individual to work on problems of diverse scope.  The position exercises broad judgment within generally defined practices and policies, and influences others in order to obtain information and resolve problems.  Erroneous or mistimed decisions may cause critical delays or cost impact and may have an immediate effect on the company’s success.  The position interacts internally with peers and management, and externally with customers and other business partners.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline or relevant experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in industry, preferably in a sales or marketing based position
  • Ability to communicate professionally in both verbal and written form

Desired Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Experience with international business communication and processes
  • Inside sales experience
  • Previous experience in the life sciences industry
  • Ability to work autonomously, effectively manage time and deliver results on time
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and in platform presentation format
  • Demonstrated computer skills to include Microsoft Office and social media
  • Multi-lingual (English + one or more languages)
