HYALONECT®

Description
Hyalonect® is a knitted mesh composed of HYAFF®, a benzyl ester of HA, a naturally occurring constituent of the extracellular matrix. The mesh is resorbable and may be fixed to the surgical site by application of sutures or internal bone fixation devices.

Indications
Hyalonect is intended for use as a bio-resorbable surgical mesh. This device is not intended for load bearing indications unless used in conjunction with traditional rigid fixation.

Features
Hyalonect acts as a periosteum substitute in orthopaedic traumas and reconstruction procedures to maintain the relative position of ungrafted bone tissue (auto/allo-grafts and bone substitutes) or bone graft fragments from comminuted fractures. It protects the underlying bone tissue, enhancing the diffusion of nutrients and creating an ideal microenvironment for bone regeneration. As Hyalonect is slowly biodegraded, it releases HA breakdown products that are conducive to the healing of soft and hard tissue.

Benefits
Bone grafts or bone fragments from comminuted fractures can be better integrated with the surrounding tissue, thus providing for more rapid stabilization of the engrafted bone material. In fact, Hyalonect allows for rapid cell colonization and neo-vascularization at the application site.

Hyalonect is not currently available for sale in the United States.
