226 patients at 10 sites were randomized to receive either ORTHOVISC or saline. This study proves that ORTHOVISC is well tolerated and produces statistically and clinically significant reduction of OA symptoms in patients with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis.

372 patients at 24 sites were randomized to receive either ORTHOVISC or arthrocentesis. This study proves that ORTHOVISC is a safe product for treatment of knee osteoarthritis and that ORTHOVISC is effective in reducing the pain and symptoms associated with OA of the knee.

This study compared two patient groups – one treated with ORTHOVISC alone and one treated with ORTHOVISC and steroid (triamcinolone), ORTHOVISC and steroid was superior to ORTHOVISC alone for early pain relief.
