Director Information Technology

Department: Finance
Reports to: CFO

Provides the overall strategic guidance and direction for the IT and telecommunications requirements of an international company conducting business in Italy and the United States. This includes establishing and maintaining a cost effective IT environment (applications, infrastructure, network and telecommunications) at Corporate (U.S.) and at FAB (Italy) and between all business units and departments in both locations.

1. Developing and implementing an IT Strategy directly related to the Company’s Business Strategy. 2. Managing the support and development of the FAB IT Strategy in conjunction with the support and development of computer systems and processes within FAB and internationally between FAB and Anika. 3. Initiating and leading projects to improve the cost effective use of Information Technology throughout the business. 4. Ensuring the basic IT controls are in place, such as: a.Systems within the business are operated within the Company’s Internal Control requirements including the requirements under Sarbanes Oxley b. General security—physical, infrastructure, network, and application c. Disaster recovery—procedures and infrastructures in place and frequently tested d. Release management and version control e. Change management f. Contract management g. License compliance h. Helpdesk 5. Planning, executing, and monitoring the IT expenses and capital within the approved IT budget. 6. Managing, motivating, and developing a team of IT professionals including their objective setting, appraisal, and training program. 7. Developing business improvement plans, including opportunities, threats, benefits, and costs arising from business processes and related IT activities. 8. Performing other related tasks as required Supervisory Responsibilities: An IT Manager and one or more professional individual contributors, with one likely being in Italy.

1. Requires a candidate who is a strategic high-energy leader with a demonstrated track record of IT leadership for a global organization. 2. Possesses strong project management skills, and the ability to make decisions and drive service delivery independently. 3. Requires a BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, with a minimum of 10 to 12 years MIS/IT management experience, is required. Business acumen is a must; an MBA is a plus. 4. Extensive hands-on experience with mid-tier ERP systems such as Macola including the implementation and integration of the accounting, distribution, and manufacturing processes is required. 5. Requires broad experience with all aspects of information technology including financial, ERP, CRM, purchasing, voice and data networking, office systems, and web-based applications. 6. Experience in the growth of an international IT function in a medium size company to a $250M+ company is preferred. Experience in infrastructure management in Italy is desired. 7. Experience in a life sciences company is preferred. 8. Requires being a strong team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills who can build relationships.
