Job Title:       Senior Recruiter

The Senior Recruiter has primary responsibility for full cycle talent acquisition for Anika Inc. In collaboration with the VP Human Resources will identify needs, design and implement programs to meet the human capital requirements of the Company. The Senior Recruiter will be responsible to develop and implement programs and processes that attract and retain top level talent. The Senior Recruiter also works cross functionally as assigned on projects key to the growth and success of the Company.  Most importantly, this key position will focus on sourcing, attracting, assessing and the hiring of top talent for all roles within Anika from entry level to senior management.

Strategic Focus Areas:

  • Develop and implement strategy, tactics and plans to attract top talent; apply same level of activity to retention of key talent
  • Maintain and improve programs and materials which support Anika Therapeutics branding efforts
  • Participate in projects and activities which support the growth efforts of the Company
  • Maintain cost discipline within assigned programs

Specific Tactical Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the Anika Inc. staffing requirements, to include position descriptions, requisition process, sourcing decisions, postings, screening activities, interview process, reference checking process, salary, and offer process
  • Develop robust candidate pool through professional social media sources, employee referrals, professional societies, job postings, campus, contingency and retained agency search
  • Responsible for direct sourcing of passive candidates via various resources such as LinkedIn and other sources
  • Develop and maintain talent acquisition metrics and prepare reports as required
  • Participate in the requisition and acquisition of the temporary/contract workforce to include qualification, cost structure and internal reporting/tracking requirements
  • Responsible to maintain accurate information for HR portions of the company website regarding staffing
  • Design and delivery of selected employee communications vehicles to attract top candidates
  • Within time and priority constraints, may perform training assessments and design programs using internal and external resources; may prepare and deliver training programs related to staffing
  • Participation in campus recruitment efforts (co-op and college hiring)
  • Participate in other projects as assigned

Job Complexity:

The position is relatively complex in nature, requiring an understanding of human resource concepts, social media trends and current industry trends. A solid working knowledge of the Company, product lines, business model and corporate goals/objectives is required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business or related life sciences
  • 8 or more years direct experience as a professional recruiter with substantial experience in a life sciences, medical device, pharmaceutical business environment
  • Knowledge and/or training in passive recruiting/sourcing techniques, social media recruiting i.e. LinkedIn
  • Full cycle staffing responsibility in private industry, preference with a publically traded for profit company
  • Professional communication skills

Desired Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  •  MBA and or advanced degree preferred
  • Agency/search experience
  • Experience recruiting various roles including Commercial, GMP manufacturing and engineering
  • Understanding/knowledge of staffing internationally/Europe
  • Development and utilization of best practice staffing metrics
  • The ability to influence others to action
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and in platform presentation format
  • Ability to work autonomously, effectively manage time and deliver results on time
  • The ability to seek information required to complete a variety of tasks
  • The ability to communicate effectively across disciplines, gather information and perform analysis
  • Strong ability to close candidates
