Senior Maintenance Mechanic

Job Title:  Senior Maintenance Mechanic

Supervisor:     Director of Facilities

Strategic Focus Areas:

  • Perform all activities within the confines of the Quality System and cGMP principles
  • Participate in projects and activities which support the growth efforts of the Company
  • Maintain cost discipline within assigned activities

Specific Tactical Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document preventative maintenance activities on production related equipment to include processing, filling and packaging functions
  • Perform and document maintenance activities with regards to PLC interfaces to include software updates, programming installation and any overrides
  • Respond to equipment down calls; identify and resolve issues to minimize process downtime
  • Perform routine maintenance on specific utility systems as required
  • Assist in the installation/qualification of new equipment and other facility upgrades
  • Train manufacturing personnel in the setup and run-time adjustment of production equipment
  • Obtain and maintain gown certification for clean room entry
  • Perform weekend on-call walkthrough duties according to schedule
  • Assist and supervise outside contractors working on site
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements to include FDA, ISO, OSHA, DEP/EPA as well as other local and state statutes
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned

Job Complexity:

The position works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where specific technical knowledge is required in order to perform work activities.  The Senior Maintenance Mechanic normally receives little instruction on routine work and detailed instructions and training on new assignments. The position requires maintenance of up to date knowledge of all applicable international regulation and regulatory guidance. The position requires the individual to have strong analytical skills with a sense of urgency.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of high speed production equipment
  • Demonstrated experience with PLC interface equipment and software interfaces

Desired Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Trade school training preferred
  • Previous experience working in clean rooms
  • Ability to work autonomously, effectively manage time and deliver results on time
  • Ability to follow directions specifically
  • Professional interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience with computerized work order systems
  • General working knowledge of building related trades (plumbing, painting, office furnishings)
